Magic The Gathering Theros Booster Box - 36 MTG Packs for Collectors & Players | Perfect for Draft Tournaments & Deck Building

Opening a booster box for a new set is always a joy, and this time was no different.With the Theros set, I noticed a few things:- Artifacts have been put on the backburner (out of the box, I found 7 different artifacts, 5 of them creatures)- Enchantments are center stage, and have been combined with other cards to create dual purpose cards (Heliod's Emissary as an example)- The theme is Greek Mythos, which happens to fit rather well to previous blocks (IMO)- Card cost versus abilities is closer to older blocks than the past couple have been (nice to see that WotC realized the issue)- Heroic ability is pretty nice ("Whenever you cast a spell that targets this creature, [x]") and works with previous decksOther notes:- I opened a pack with Ashiok and two with Anax and Cymede. Used Ashiok to rebuild my mill deck, but will have to put together a red/white deck with some Akroans and Heroics.- The Artifacts are rather underwhelming, which is okay for me and perfect for a friend recently restarted playing (he quit when Mirrodin over-killed the artifacts).The box wasnt in amazing shape and the top was open but that was likely due to shipping or just the fact that the set is a few years old now. The packs inside didn't appear to have been opened or resealed. So far about halfway through and have gotten 2-3 legendary creatures, 3 of the colored legendary artifacts, and 3 mythical, two of which are gods valued at $18 and $10. Only one or two dupes of rares and cards seem to be worth at least close to the price of the box but I suspect they'll be worth more if I were to actually check the price of every card.First things first, the plastic wrap was undamaged as well as the individual packs. I pulled five mythic rares and some really usefull rares like a copy of Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. I did not check to see if I recouped the cost of the box because I plan on keeping the cards. I fell in love with Greek theme of the the set especially after learning that it is the set Kiora is from and finding Thassa, Goddess of the Sea.Loved the product had some good pulls minor issue in the description very misleading it says (plus playmat) there is no playmat so if your expecting one along with your order there is none would have given 5 stars had the implication of a free playmat not been there or I received implied playmatI ordered this after playing at the pre-release. I loved the enchantment creatures, and I thought the gods looked like fun to play with.After opening only two thirds of the booster packs, I had found one of each of the planeswalkers in this set, a thoughtseize, and 3 of the god's weapons. Way better deal than buying them myself, which is what I hoped to avoid. Those followed with several other rares of varying usefulness still made this a pretty good pack. The box was partially damaged, (I blame UPS) but it's clear that the packs were not tampered with, despite my suspicions at first. This would make a great gift and I might just have to buy another!Theros is based on mythology, as a result you would think this would be amazing. I would say this is just okay. Out of an entire booster box, I got a maybe three cards that were worth it, no planeswalker, nothing worth the amount of money I paid for an entire box. I suppose that's the luck of the draw, but you would think that there would be at least a few really rare and useful cards, and at least a planeswalker. Alas....money down the drain.The box was a little damaged due to it being shipped in an envelope instead of a more protective option (a slightly bigger box). My fiancée and I opened the packs and got 6 Mythic Rares. Average guarantee is 4-5, so that was a plus. Paying $113.25, I managed to get the packs at about $3.15 each. That means that each card only cost me $0.21. Pretty decent pricing.Came quickly and in good condition.Series is a little so so. Only a few good cards. Like 'Born of the gods' I can see why this series is cheaper now.Loved this. Highly recommend this set to any mtg enthusiast. Heroic is a great ability and a lot of both interesting, and powerful rares. The cards from this set have inspired me to create new decks, and improve old ones with additions from this set.
